Head Barista and team leader (part-time)

Taylor’s Café is an independent vegan café located in the heart of the Marolles district in Brussels. Since opening in 2021, the café has been built around strong values: quality, inclusivity, respect for people and the environment, and warm, thoughtful customer service.

We are looking for a café manager to work closely with the owner and take part in the daily management and long-term development of the café.

The role

This is a highly collaborative position. The owner remains very involved in the café, so we are looking for someone comfortable with shared management, regular communication and joint decision-making.

You will act as a team leader, with a strong focus on organisation, people management, and customer experience.

What you’ll do

Oversee daily café operations
Prepare drinks with care and consistency
Ensure a smooth and friendly customer experience
Lead and support a small team, giving clear communication and constructive feedback
Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
Organise regular team meetings

What we’re looking for

At least 2 years of barista experience with solid technical skills and a genuine interest in coffee
Experience managing a team
Strong communicator, able to give clear and constructive feedback
Organised and resourceful, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Aligned with our values: veganism, inclusivity and respect for people and the environment
Curious and proactive, always looking for ways to improve and work more efficiently
Languages: fluent in English and French with Dutch as a plus

Conditions

Contract: 24 hours/week with the possibility to go up to 32 hours/week
Location: Taylor’s Café, Rue Haute 228, Brussels.
Initial 6-month contract, with the intention to transition into a permanent role
